Banded Demoiselles

I know of  a small field of Yellow Iris near to Inchiquin
Every year in this patch numbers of Banded Demoiselle Damselies flit about the stems
Fairy like creatures.

Back to Loop

Its been a few months now since I was down at the headland.
I took a walk from the lighthouse area towards the Fodry.
A few juvenile Kittiwakes and Guillemots are still on the cliff faces.
Rafts of Guillemots were out on the water and Gulls were patrolling for a meal.

Grey Heron tackles an Eel

On the shoreline at Clahane a Grey Heron tackles an Eel that it has caught.
A difficult prey item, made more difficult when dropped in the seaweed

On the Burren
Plenty of Dark green Fritilary were on show on this warm day in the Templecronan area of Carran.
Seldom did you get the chance of a photo as they were on the wing and quick,

Juvenile Swallow

A few young Swallows were perched up waiting for the parents to feed them.
Patient ,with no movement they didnt find me a threat and were quite approachable
