A Stint in the stoney bays of Loop Head

I was enjoying nice morning amung the bays of Loop head. 

Laragen bay and Ross bay are a stand out beautiful area. These bays are surrounded in smooth stones shaped by the ocean.

A Little Stint was among the seaweed with a few Dunlin a Ringed Plover and a Common Sandpiper that was on a small patch of sand and elusive in the stones. Reed Bunting,  Wheatear and White Wagtail were flycatching in the stones.

Little Stint - Clahane

 A quick Sunday afternoon check at my local patch Clahane produced a Little Stint at the high tide rock pools on the southern reef which is known to draw a few peeps in the past, it associating with a few Dunlin and Sanderling.

Time for a Stint around Loop Head

 After a busy summer schedule it was good to find a morning back at Loop head for a bit of birding

I was at the lighthouse at Loop Head early, the headland was very busy in Meadow Pipits and Linnets. 2 juvenile Wheatear were on the wall.

 A Buzzard was on a post near the heather hill, 12 Golden Plover were at the Plover fields.

The gardens showed a sculky Blackcap that was harassed by 1 of 2 Chiffchaff around side of Gibsons 

A Little Stint was at Cloghaun Lough travelling with 2 Dunlin, 2 Snipe were also at the Lough

A Little Stint was a new arrival to Seafield along with new few Dunlin and a tired Curlew Sandpiper.

A Stint in the rain

I was at Seafield early in the morning at high tide , Before light I sat near the seaweed watching the shorebirds in the rain.

3 Little Stints and 4 Curlew Sandpipers were mixing with the 60+ Dunlin flock

The tide was dropping from high ,and the exposed shoreline was being exploited by the small waders. One Little Stint was feeding with the Dunlin and Sanderling.
They were to busy to take much interest in me.

I was back at Seafield again this morning to see the waders .
A single Little Stint was feeding along  the shoreline with Dunlin and Turnstone.
