Gleninagh Mt , North Burren

When a report of a Snowy Owl sighting comes from the Burren ,I generally try to make an effort to go to the area and hope to see Her.
Ive seen Her in the past and will always have the desire to find and experience  her again.
I stick to my old quote:
"If you dont go, You dont see
If you dont look , You cant find"
Here are some photos and views of area of Gleninagh mt at the north of the Burren.
Snowy Owl habitat.
Its hard going on the loose wet limestone rocks, its a silent world, Goats appear in the Mist, mad selections of wildflowers, a Silver washed Fritilary  floats past .
A family of Wheatear and a few Whitethroat were the best of the small birds
A Sparrowhawk was carrying prey to a nest in low hazel, a pair of Kestrels were hunting together. Silence was broken by my steps and the Croaks from the Raven, but no Owl was seen today.

Burren Yellowhammer

Just one male Yellowhammer was singing near Carran Turlough on the Burren.
Im not seeing many of these birds anymore and I believe they seem to be
on the brink of vanishing from the county.

Burren Goats

While taking a few family members through a tour of the Burren , we came across a herd of 22 Feral Goats in the Caher valley , the `bucks` or Billy Goats were quite impressive creatures and approachable from down wind.

Yellowhammers were singing in the branches along with Willow Warblers,
Several pairs of Lapwing and Common gull have taken to territories in wilderness areas, they`ll have a rough time nesting with the amount of Hooded Crow in the area.
A lone Hare taking a long walk through the Burren, stopping every 10 yards for a nibble and scratch.
Not many geese on show today but 2 Greylag geese fly in and fly out .

Little yellow birds

Theres something about these little Yellowhammers , fantastic colours , a specialist and a surviver. Nice to get a count of 9 - 15 birds coming and going `after a harsh winter` feeding in a small paddock on horse grain,
