Knot at Clonahinchy

While watching the Gulls and waders at Clonahinchy , 4 shorebirds landed on the sand further up beach which upped me for a strole to find Knot .

And so begins another season.

It was low tide,

But along the high tide line a pool had developed above the seaweed a Knot was among a few Sanderling , Dunlin, Turnstone and Starlings.

35 Black tailed Godwit were further along at Quilty beach

Dunlin and Knot were quite showy and tame along the shoreline of Tacumshin lake

An Adult summer Grey Plover showed out in the shallows near the sluice

Waders are starting to arrive on our shores. Today at Quilty beach Black-tailed Godwits, Turnstone, Knot, Dunlin, Sanderling, Curlew and large numbers of Ringed Plover were feeding up on the dropping tide. The usual Gulls and Mallard ducks were also present

Waders continue to pass through Clahane, Today an adult Knot shares the reef with Turnstones , Oystercatchers, Curlew and Dunlin

Shorebirds are arriving in numbers to our shores now and into september.

Clahane at low tide was showing many juvenile Ringed Plovers which are all over every reefs on the west coast, Knot and Dunlin are on a feeding mission while the tide is out. Many Turnstones are hidden among the seaweed.

While giving a surf lesson yesterday i had a fly by ....by some sort of sandpiper.
today i came across this one Knot ant the top of the beach.. id say this was it.
